![]() ![]() I have always had better luck with a curling iron than rollers, but I usually blow dry my hair with a round brush and put the top half of my hair in large rollers to cool while doing makeup etc. A texturizing spray will help with volume, and help you be able to flip your head and add more volume back in, if it is falling flat. ![]() I think before you go back to the hairstylist, play around with it for a few days. Whenever I try to get volume and curls, it’s a struggle. You appear to have a lot of fine hair, like me. this is why it’s so important for us not to hold our self to Internet standards Lastly & MOST importantly - this is an Internet picture! Her hair could’ve looked like that for one second, snapped the pic, And then all the curls fell immediately, lol. So no matter how much you try, depending on your hair you might not get the exact result. but what sucks (at least with my hair which is similar length but totally different texture) is that I’ll have volume after curling it for all of five minutes and then it goes flat, to get volume like hers I would have to add extensions in a different texture. You have a ton of beautiful hair, I would suggest cutting it a bit more and maybe using a volumizer. ![]() She probably tossed her hair upside down a lot and used a bit of hairspray to keep it big and bouncy like that. So glad to be helpful! I looked again & another thing I noticed that probably is the biggest thing is that she just has a lot of volume. It’s still cute! I wouldn’t complain about it, but I do get it’s not exactly what you expected maybe explain that to her and have her go back in and cut more? But I also know that when I try to copy something I like (for example an outfit from IG) and I don’t have the same body or look as the person I’m copying, even if it’s exactly the same, I don’t see the same thing when I look at it. I personally don’t, I think your layers are longer and less dramatic. She sees the same results as the picture. Is it the color, the length, the curl of the layers? The bangs? I really don’t know anything about Hair cut technique so I’m just reaching here, but I think you get the point. One thing I learned a long time ago about getting your hair done, was that you and your hairdresser could look at the same picture and see two different things! So you have to be Really specific about exactly what it is that you like about the picture. I break it all the way down, especially when someone sits in my chair the first time and has seemingly never had a good salon experience. Heck, just styling period! There’s a reason it looks good when your hairdresser does it, and it isn’t magic no matter how much it may seem like it sometimes, it’s because they’re styling it. The reason it usually looks good day 1 (not always as cuts don’t always include a style) is because their stylist styled it! Grown adults tell that “Looked great day One and never again” and tell the story like their stylist tricked them or something! I explain this too often at work, because part of the problem is a cosmetologist not educating the client, but another big, related factor is a high rate of being dissatisfied because they don’t understand that styles, like this and any other, require maintenance and at home styling. ![]() So many people get disappointed because they aren’t realizing that a cut isn’t a style. If you bring it to our attention we will hunt for it. **PLEASE don't hold it against the mods if your post is not posted - it's probably just stuck in the spam filter and we missed it.
